Introducing Our New Local Supervisor Board!
We’re excited to welcome three amazing new members to the AdAmi Project’s Local Supervisor Board in Sierra Leone. These passionate and experienced individuals, our ‘local champions,’ will be instrumental in overseeing our work and driving our mission of creating a sustainable, locally-driven organisation.
Our new local champions are:
Mary Alpha – Lead Consultant at Farm Tok Consultancy (pictured below)
With over a decade of experience in rural community development, Mary is an expert business consultant and psychosocial coach. She holds a BA in Mass Communications and is an accredited ILO trainer. To-date, she has trained and certified over 1,000 SMEs, empowering women across Sierra Leone. Passionate about supporting young mothers, Mary will use her expertise to mentor and guide women towards sustainable livelihoods.
Fun Fact: Mary loves storytelling and often uses personal anecdotes to inspire and connect with others. She believes sharing real-life experiences makes learning more impactful and recently hosted a storytelling workshop for our peer mentors!
Mariama Kanneh – Entrepreneur and Advocate (pictured below)
Mariama holds a degree in Computing Science and is a passionate tech advocate. She is the founder of Girls&Bytes, an initiative aimed at bridging the gender gap in STEM, and also leads Agatha Vision-SL, which focuses on promoting women’s rights and maternal health. As a local supervisor, Mariama is dedicated to helping young mothers break the cycle of poverty through education and access to essential resources.
Fun Fact: Mariama loves to innovate and is very creative! She recently customised a bedtime storybook for her newborn daughter with characters based on her family!
Josephine Kamara – Community Animator and Educator (pictured below)
A retired primary school teacher and community development specialist, Josephine has spent years empowering local communities. With her deep connection to Sierra Leone’s grassroots, she’ll help young mothers access vital resources and build better futures.
Fun Fact: Josephine has a knack for cooking and loves experimenting with different cuisines! She often hosts national-themed dinner nights, where she invites friends and family to savour dishes from around the world. It’s a fun way for her to bond with others and share different cultures.
We’re thrilled to have these incredible women on board to lead and inspire positive change. Welcome, Mary, Mariama, and Josephine!
